Shot on the Greek island of Samothrace in the late summer of 2019, this video functions as a visual and psychological
vortex.
Drawing inspiration from Heraclitus’ philosophy of pánta rheî (everything flows), the work explores the human condition
through the lens of ongoing “becoming.” It navigates the thin, volatile line between two extreme forms of modern
movement: the voluntary voyage of the seeker (the tourist, the spiritual nomad) and the involuntary flight of the survivor
(the refugee).
Structurally, the video acts as an archivist’s collage of a disappearing world. It contrasts the tactile intimacy of intimate
handheld camera footage and personal journal entries with the cold, detached eye of found footage from Google Maps.
